In our nation of plenty, no one should go hungry - one hungry child is one child too many.

Hunger causes malnutrition, increases susceptibility to illness, and contributes to brain development deficiency. Golden Harvest was founded in 1982 by a committee of concerned citizens who vowed that hunger should never be tolerated in the Central Savannah River Community.

Golden Harvest is a locally-supported, nonprofit, charitable food distribution center that provides grocery products to the hungry through our partner agencies. Our service area encompasses 30 counties within Georgia and South Carolina.

BROWN BAG PROGRAM
Implemented in a majority of Golden Harvest Food Bank's 30-county service area, this program furnishes bags or boxes of food to needy senior citizens. Read more.

Golden Harvest Food Bank operates the Kids Cafe Program which provides free, prepared food as well as homework assistance to hungry children.

Golden Harvest Food Bank operates a mobile food program that distributes 5,000 - 10,000 pounds of food and groceries to the needy at once.
