The Master's Garden

The Master's Garden is a community envisioned by Golden Harvest to bring gardening into the inner city and provide fresh products to support our mission of feeding the hungry.

The garden consists of thirty-two 10’ x 4’ raised garden beds, providing 2,400 square feet of premium garden space to benefit guests of The Master’s Table.

Over the next several years, it is expected to produce thousands of pounds of low-cost, fresh fruits and vegetables that will be enjoyed by the hungry and the homeless.

The guests of The Master's Table will have the opportunity to help in The Master's Garden, allowing those who benefit from the soup kitchen's program to participate in its success, gain new gardening skills, and build new relationships.

The work completed in the garden is rewarded through a Store Program which operates off of a points system;  allowing guests to earn points when working a certain number of hours.  When guests redeem points, they can request items from The Master’s Table Store, which allow one to purchase the items and distribute them to the guests. The Master’s Table Manager will administrate this program.

Members of the community can sponsor a box.  Sponsors can be active or inactive, as agreed upon, regarding regular maintenance of the assigned garden bed. For those who cannot actively maintain the garden bed, the Master’s Table will develop a program that will reach out to their guests who desire to work.
