Volunteer Opportunities
The Master’s Table Soup Kitchen
Volunteers are needed at our Master’s Table Soup Kitchen located in Downtown Augusta. We are in need of volunteers Sunday through Saturday to assist us with serving 300+ guests a lunch meal. Volunteers are needed to assist with preparing food, serving food, greeting guests and special assignments like playing music or offering a blessing for the meal.
Volunteers are especially needed Sunday through Friday for three hour shifts between 10:00am - 1:00pm.
If you are scheduling groups of five or more, we recommend inquiring 3-4 months in advance.

Agency Selection Area
GHFB's Agency Distribution sites are places for agency members select items to stock up their food pantry, soup kitchen or other feeding program(s). Volunteers assist in stocking shelves, checking out members and assisting with various other customer service responsibilities. Volunteers are needed various days. Shifts vary depending on the site but are usually Monday through Friday from 8:00am - noon and 1:00pm - 3:30pm.
Faith Food Factory
The Faith Food Factory is where we sort, inspect and re-package our non-perishable donations. Volunteers are needed year round. Individual volunteers and volunteer groups are needed. Volunteer shifts are as follows:
Tuesday 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Wednesday 8:30am - noon; 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Thursday 1:00pm - 4:00pm; 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Friday 8:30am - noon; 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Food Drives
Throughout the year, individuals and groups collect non-perishable food for GHFB. Two of the organization's most successful drives are “It’s Spooky to be Hungry!” and the National Association of Letter Carriers; each requires hundreds of volunteer hours to plan and execute. If you are interested in holding a food drive please contact the contact our Events Specialist.
Manna Truck Distributions
The Manna Truck is a mobile pantry program that distributes 5,000 to 10,000 pounds of fresh produce in one visit to areas in need. Volunteers are needed to help distribute the food. The location, day and time of volunteer shifts vary.
Office Area
Volunteers are occasionally needed in our office area for general office work. The office work includes things such as stuffing envelopes and data entry. If you have a flexible schedule and don’t mind being asked to help on the spur of the moment, this may be the area for you! Volunteer shifts are:
Monday - Friday 9:00am - noon; 1:00 - 4:00pm
Special Events
Throughout the year GHFB holds various events to raise awareness about hunger and to assist the Food Bank in collecting the resources it needs to continue its mission. Volunteers are needed to assist during these events.

Warehouse
GHFB occasionally needs assistance in its warehouses. Volunteers are needed to assist in pulling orders, general cleanup, accompanying truck drivers on their routes, etc. Volunteer shifts are as follows:
AUGUSTA
Monday - Friday 8:00am - noon; 1:00 - 5:00pm
AIKEN
Monday - Friday 8:00am - noon; 1:00 - 5:00pm
LIBERTY
Tuesday - Thursday 10:00am - 1:00pm
